Working Principle

1. Self-Issue of Books:


A Student approaches the READER KIT placed near the shelves and puts the RFID card in front of the RFID module. Once this card is detected the student’s database and is automatically displayed on to the LCD screen (Name & Roll No) followed by a green bulb (Glowing). The student selects the issue button which allows the issue of a limited number of books (i.e. 3 books only). Then the student places the books in front of the detector causing the tags to be recognized and then registered into the student’s database, with a display on the LCD screen stating that the books are issued. The tag is then deactivated.

If he/she needs to re-issue the books then they select the re-issue button. An automatic request is sent to the Library manager requesting for the renewal of the book, once permitted the book is issued. The Keypad is provided where each student is provided with a code that determines that the student is carrying his own RFID card.



2. Checking for Availability:


A Student can check the availability of the books in the system connected to the database and if the book is not available then he can add his name in the waiting list for the specific book and when the book is available he can issue it. The date of the book to be returned is already loaded into the database using a Real Time Clock.

3. Drop Box:


The Student returns the book by dropping the books in the drop box where the tag present in the book is reactivated and is added back to the database and made available.
